The Perfect Pops of Colour at FACE (2026)

Families of Alberta for Conductive Education (FACE) is dedicated to empowering neurodiverse children and young adults, helping them overcome barriers to independence and inclusion through specialized Conductive Education programs. FACE serves up to 100 participants in their custom-designed, adapted spaces and is deeply committed to ensuring every neurodiverse child and young adult in Calgary can thrive.

The Project

When FACE moved into their new, larger southeast Calgary facility to meet overwhelming demand, they lacked the resources for professional painting, so their team painted the space themselves. While the intent was great, the results were less than professional, and the facility has seen significant wear-and-tear since. 2026 marks FACE’s 30th anniversary serving Calgary, and they sought out Paint4Good to refresh their facility to mark this important milestone.

In addition to the $10,000 in painting services donated by Paint4Good, FACE used some of their own funds, enabling The Urban Painter to repaint the entire facility, which included the entrance area, two program spaces, a board room, three offices, a sensory room, kitchen, storage room, hallways, and three bathrooms.

When the staff at FACE originally painted the facility, they chose bold, bright colours to set an energetic tone for the spaces. However, in doing the repaint, they wanted to make some changes. The Urban Painter’s professional colour consultant Amanda Bryant helped them select just the right vibrant colours in the appropriate spaces, while toning it down with more neutral colours in spaces that needed less… main character energy 🙂.

The entryway was previously a neutral colour and they chose to revamp it with Sherwin Williams Emberglow (SW 6627). Now the first thing people see when entering the space is this beautiful, welcoming feature wall!

Previously, the doors in the therapy rooms were bright turquoise and orange. Still wanting to keep the vibrancy, but in a less blinding way, they selected Sherwin Williams Ebbtide (SW 6493) and Cooled Blue (SW 6759) to transform the spaces that their participants use daily.

Doors and trim that were previously painted turquoise and orange were toned down with Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray (SW 7044).

And lastly, all of the walls were given a fresh coat of Sherwin Williams Shoji White (SW 7042), giving the entire facility a fresh, clean overhaul!

The Impact

FACE’s executive director Kimberly Millis said,

“The painting turned out amazing, we absolutely love the results and are so grateful to have been selected for the Paint4Good grant. It’s really brightened up our space (and our spirits)!”

Paint4Good is thrilled to partner with Sherwin Williams on this and all of our projects. Thank you Sherwin Williams for donating the paint for the FACE project!
