Teachers, instructional assistants, therapists and parents work together to develop individualized program for each child that respects their ability and helps them reach their full potential. The School provides individualized educational programming for students with moderate to severe developmental challenges and across disabilities.

“During this time of COVID-19, it has been challenging for everyone. Here at Quest, our students depend on us to provide support and comfort. They love their school and miss their friends and teachers. Quest School is more than an educational facility, we are a family.”

The Project – The Gymnasium

In their application, CQS let us know that their gymnasium was in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint. They had a wallpaper feature wall that had seen some wear and tear and the stage was also in need of some love! The students use this space for gym class, assemblies, and school productions, so we knew we had to refresh this space!

“The gym at Calgary Quest School was in no doubt need of some help! It was so fun for us to be able to bring this space into the 21st century and create a brighter space for all the kids who use it!”

— Jon Bryant

Chief of Colour, The Urban Painter

Designer and colour consultant, Amanda Bryant worked with Marian Bobak, Vice Principal at CQS, and his team to help create a brighter, more beautiful colour story. From floor to ceiling, the walls would be painted Timid White (#OC-39) from Benjamin Moore, a bright white that would definitely open up the space and bounce light around the entire room! The wood panelling on the stage would be painted a beautiful blue called Aquarium Blue (#2058-50). The doors of the gym, the front doors, and the window frames around the doors were all painted Blue Danube (#2062-30).

We would like to thank The Urban Painter for the beautiful gift you have given us here at Calgary Quest School. We were so thankful that we were chosen to be the participants of your generous offer to make our school a brighter and welcoming place to be. We want to let you know that what you have done for our school is AMAZING!! You have not just brightened our school but the morale of our staff and students. Your gift could not have come at a more important time.
